Hi All,

As of this morning I have had 15 responses to the Question of the
Week. With a subscriber base of 600+, this accounts for about 2.5%
of EMD readers who have responded. The Question of the Week will
remain in each issue, all week long, so send in your responses. I
will compile and publish the results here next Monday.

Hello Josh,
Reply to your post in number #81.

Gary gave you some excellent sources for CGI scripts. However, I have
the same problem as he, in that I am not a programmer, thus I need
someone to implement the scripts. If you are a programmer you don't
need to go farther.

If not, I found a very simple but powerful client side software
program from Webgenie, out of Australia. http://www.webgenie.com. You
can get the program either Java or JavaScript but you don't need to
write the script. The program does it for you. You can set the
rotation time frame, it can even be random. If you want to see it at
work go to http://finsave.com/broadway/wantfrsl.htm at the bottom.
Check the view source for the script which appears at the top and at
the bottom you will see what you need to write in the program.
It is very easy to follow the directions. It does cost $29 US
dollars. You would need to check the site or contact Webgenie for
your cost.

>>Matt's Script Archive has a couple of random image display CGI
scripts available for free download at;

>>

I've looked at that myself, but I'm not sure that it randomizes the links
to go with the images.

Usually it is a CGI issue, so you're into using PERL or Cold Fusion or
something. Your ISP is not really involved, except for which CGI they are
using. FrontPage 98 is supposed have built in support for banner
advertising.
