Hi All,

Last week's Guest Moderator, Nancy Roebke, did a great job
raising issues, commenting intelligently and basically
fostering growth and participation in this e-community.
The results of her Question of the Week - along with her
commentary - can be found at the end of each issue of this
week's EMD.  Thanks, Nancy...  Good Job.

As of this week the EMD is moving to a thrice-weekly
publication schedule.  The days of publication will be
Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Quality over quantity.

We are preparing to launch a new large-scale interactive
celebrity-entertainment Web site.  I am interested in
hearing from Internet Marketing Professionals regarding
budgeting for such a launch and overall Marketing Plan.

Does anyone know the current amount of dollars being
spent by others on similar projects?  Any direction or
information would be much appreciated.

Subject: "Credit Card Security Questions"

Hi all to all list members. Thanks for all the good
information I getting out of the postings.

I want to give some information to Clive Horton's question
about credit card secure transactions. I am looking it into
for a while and found out some good companies. Try for
example the Internet Mall (they say that they have 25.000
merchants in their mall), they offer OrderEasy and it looks
very good for me. They have a special right now, see
http://www.internetmall.com

Another company is E-Money or Cybercash at
 http://www.emoney.net
and
 http://www.cybercash.com

I have the very special problem that no bank or credit card
organisations in Germany accept payment via the Internet.
And to use the above companies I have to get a merchant bank
account in the US and a Tax ID which is difficult for us. I
couldn't open a bank account in the US if I am not there. If
anyone has some information which help me out of this
trouble, I appreciate very much.

The only company I have found to do this for
mail order type business is Card Service.  Is this
the only one or are there other choices?  I do not
intend processing credit cards over the web directly.

The main surprise to me here was that so few people are
using online chat for this purpose. I personally think
we will see that increase over time.

I was not surprised that web sites were the most effective, but I WAS
surprised about Reciprical Links being so effective. The things that got
no votes at all on the second section didn't surprise me. Many of them
can be hard to target market with.

I also thought it interesting that such a variety of things worked the
best for different people. From a marketing standpoint, that signifies
to me the importance of doing all the things on the list until one
really determines which are working effectively for your field of
business.
