These photos are the best I can do with my little digital camera. At some point I'll get a fragment under my microscope for a closer look and post some pics here. Some of these images have been enhanced to increase contrast and brighten images. No color corrections have been made. [Wikipedia article on the Carancas Meteorite] Classified by the University of Arizona the meteorite is an ordinary chondrite, an H chondrite breccia, containing clasts of petrologic types 4 to 5. The formal classification is H4-5. The meteoroid had experienced a considerable amount of shock before its ultimate encounter with Earth.
